AI Wash takes account of the weight and softness of the fabric, as well as how soiled the laundry is. It uses this information to adjust water and detergent quantities and the soaking, rinsing and spinning stages. This helps tailor the wash process to compatible loads rather than relying on one fixed set of settings.
AI Ecobubble™ creates bubbles to help detergent spread through the laundry and penetrate fabrics. On selected programmes, including Cotton, Synthetics and AI Wash, it can adjust the amount of bubbles, washing time, temperature and spin speed according to the fabric type. Its operation is dependent on the programme selected.
For shorter washing, Super Speed can complete a 5kg load in 39 minutes under the specified default programme settings. It combines drum movement and water spray with a shortened rinsing stage. This is useful when you need to wash a moderate amount of everyday laundry more quickly, although it is not a 39-minute cycle for the full 9kg capacity.
Hygiene Steam provides a dedicated programme for laundry where reducing certain bacteria and allergens is important. Steam is released into the drum during washing. Samsung’s testing reports the removal of 99.9% of specified bacteria, while the programme has Allergy UK recognition for reducing exposure to certain allergens when used correctly.
The Bubble Soak function offers additional help with more stubborn everyday marks. It soaks clothing in active bubbles to help loosen dirt and stains such as tea, wine, make-up and grass before the main wash.

AI Wash senses the weight and softness of the laundry and assesses its level of soiling. It then adjusts water and detergent quantities, along with the soaking, rinsing and spinning times. By analysing your washing patterns, it can also adjust detergent use over time.
AI Ecobubble™ creates bubbles that help detergent penetrate fabrics. On compatible programmes, it can adjust the bubble activity and washing settings according to the fabric type. This provides a more tailored approach to washing, particularly when dealing with different types of clothing.
Adding detergent and fabric softener for every wash can be one more thing to remember. Auto Dispense automatically measures and releases the required amounts for each load.
The system has separate compartments for detergent and fabric softener, although both compartments can be used for detergent if required. Samsung states that the detergent supply can last for up to a month, based on an average of two to three washes per week using a 5kg load. Actual refill frequency will depend on your washing habits and settings.
The A energy rating provides a useful starting point when comparing the running efficiency of washing machines. Samsung also states that this Series 6 model exceeds the minimum energy-efficiency requirement for an A rating by up to 10%, based on its internal testing.
SmartThings AI Energy Mode allows you to monitor electricity consumption and estimate running costs through the app. On compatible settings, it can use cooler water and a longer wash time to help reduce energy use. The level of saving will depend on the programme and how the machine is used.
Super Speed provides a 39-minute wash for a 5kg load under the specified default settings. It combines drum movement and water spray with a shorter rinsing stage to reduce the overall cycle time.
This is useful when you have a moderate amount of laundry to wash but do not want to wait for a longer standard programme. Remember that the 39-minute duration applies to the specified 5kg load, not the full 9kg capacity.
The Hygiene Steam programme releases steam into the drum during washing to help remove certain bacteria and inactivate allergens. Samsung’s testing reports removal of 99.9% of specified bacteria, including Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli.
