What is the difference between Vertuo and Original?
With Vertuo you can make an espresso to a larger cup of coffee – Espresso (40ml), Double Espresso (80ml), Gran Lungo (150ml), Mug (230ml). Innovative CentrifusionTM extraction and barcode technology adjusts the brewing parameters for each blend to ensure a great quality coffee and rich crema whatever the cup size. These can all be enjoyed with cold milk straight from the fridge.
Original is for your classic espresso experience – espressos, lungos. The machine uses a high- pressure 19 bar extraction system to release the coffee and fresh aromas from each capsule and if with a milk facility, provides hot milk for espresso based recipes
Can I recycle Vertuo capsules?
Yes. Our capsules are made of aluminium which not only protects our coffee from oxygen, light and humidity to maintain the highest quality but it is also infinitely recyclable. Drop off your used capsules at one of our collections points ( Collect+ UK or ParcelMotel Ireland), your nearest Nespresso Boutique or contact us to organise a collection from your doorstep. By including capsule recycling to your coffee ritual, your coffee won’t only taste good, it feels good too.
Are all Nespresso coffees good with milk?
Yes. You can add cold milk to all of the Vertuo coffees. If you have a machine with an Aeroccino3 milk frother, this is an ultra-simple and fast automatic system for preparation of a light and creamy hot or cold milk froth
How do I know which capsule fits my machine?
Our Vertuo machines have one button to brew all cup sizes and use dome-shaped capsules, while our Original machines have 2+ buttons or a screen display to select your cup size and use bell-shaped capsules.
