4K Studio Colour Engine
4K UHD resolution is now well established as the ‘go to’ option for video streaming services, UHD Blu-ray and gaming. All 4K UHD TVs are not equal, however. The quality of the processor behind the picture makes a huge difference to the picture quality. That’s why this Panasonic 50 inch TV comes fitted with their powerful, 4K Studio Colour Engine. This produces brilliant colour, precise detail and smooth motion, maximising the full potential of UHD 4K.
Dolby Vision for dramatic imaging
Dolby Vision optimises the HDR format to give the sharpest, most accurate images possible. Dolby vision-equipped TVs, like this Panasonic, decode both generic HDR content and content that’s specifically encoded in Dolby Vision – a leading format in Hollywood and cinemas. Dolby Vision also adjusts the picture to take full advantage of each display’s characteristics and presents an optimized picture for each scene in specially mastered content.
HDR10 and HLG for enhanced detail
In addition to Dolby Vision, the Panasonic TX50HX580B also supports HDR10 and HLG formats. HDR10 is widely used on UHD gaming consoles from Sony and Microsoft. HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma HDR) is a broadcast and user generated standard format and is very much the standard used for transmitting 4K signals. Whichever HDR system is being utilised, the Panasonic guarantees pin-sharp detail, even within the darkest areas of the screen.
Smart TV
With wi-fi built-in, the TX-50HX580B accesses the best of the web. As well featuring a full web browser, the TV also has essential apps on-board. These include catch-up TV, YouTube and video streaming favourites, such as Netflix.
Freeview Play for easy access to catch-up TV
This Panasonic also features Freeview Play. This combines catch-up TV, on-demand services and live television to make it easy to watch what you want, when you want. It’s free from subscription and compatible with existing broadband services, while BBC iPlayer, ITV Player, All 4 and Demand 5 are available without having to open specific apps, giving effortless scroll-back TV (requires broadband Internet connection with a minimum speed of 2Mbps).

The Panasonic TX-50HX580B comes with a class-leading, 4 x HDMI sockets. This makes it the ideal TV for connecting many sources.
